Projects / Flick
Flick it in the Trash.
Right-click any file and choose Flick to Trash. It wads up into a ball of paper, and you flick it across the room into the can. Swish, it's gone. Miss, it stays.
One-time purchase · Free updates · macOS 14 or later · Works with touch, trackpad or mouse
Three seconds. One swish.
Right-click
Pick any file in Finder and choose Flick to Trash. Select several and they come up one at a time.
Flick
The file wads up at the bottom of the screen. Swipe up to throw it. A desk fan pushes it sideways, so mind the wind.
Swish!
Made shots go to the regular Trash, so you can drag them back. Misses never delete anything.
A small game that does a real job
A real throw
The ball arcs into the distance, clangs off the rim and rattles around, like the classic office game.
Wind, every throw
From calm to Hurricane. You choose how wild it gets in Settings.
Streaks and confetti
Three in a row and the can bursts into paper confetti. Ten is a party.
Three trash cans
Wire basket, steel bin or recycling bin, set near, normal or far.
Can't Miss mode
Every throw goes in. All the fun, none of the skill.
Quick toss
Hold ⌥ Option to skip the game, or skip it automatically for big batches.
Menu bar totals
Files tossed, space cleared and your best streak, one click away.
Sound and haptics
A crunchy crumple, a whoosh, a rim clang, and a light tap on your trackpad.

- Open Flick from Applications. macOS says it can't verify the app. Click Done.
- Open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down, and click Open Anyway next to Flick. Confirm with your password or Touch ID.

- Right-click any file in Finder and choose Flick to Trash.
Questions
Does Flick delete my files permanently?
No. A made shot moves the file to the regular macOS Trash, exactly like Move to Trash. You can drag it back out until you empty the Trash. A miss leaves the file where it was.
Do I need a touchscreen Mac?
No. Flick is built for touchscreen Macs, and it works just as well with a trackpad or mouse. Swipe or drag upward to throw.
What if I'm in a hurry?
Hold Option when you choose Flick to Trash and files go straight to the Trash. In Settings you can also skip the game for batches over 5, 10 or 25 files.
Does Flick collect any data?
No. Flick has no accounts, analytics or network access. Your settings and totals stay in your Mac's preferences. See the Privacy Policy.
Why does macOS warn me when I first open it?
Flick isn't notarized by Apple yet, so macOS asks you to approve it once in Privacy & Security. A notarized build is coming as a free update.
How do I uninstall it?
Quit Flick from its menu bar icon and drag Flick from Applications to the Trash. The Finder extension goes with it.
